about the film.

An American filmmaker (Noland), suffering from the loss of his father, travels to Haiti to immerse himself in post-earthquake aid and advocacy work. The results are complicated, particularly with regards to a philosophical Haitian boy (Jouvens—from age 12-21) he takes under his wing. What are the limits of good intentions? Through Noland's video work, which includes Jouvens narrating an advocacy video with Arcade Fire, Maria Bello, Prime Minister Lamothe and Sean Penn; the boy becomes a celebrity in Haiti. But now in the United States, Jouvens is an unemployed, alcoholic, illegal immigrant struggling to survive.
